At CWS Construction, we believe in transparency from the very beginning. Before construction starts, we provide a clear and comprehensive overview of your project costs so you understand what to expect. Throughout the build, we work closely with you to manage your budget and keep you informed of any approved variations. This helps minimise unexpected costs and gives you greater confidence throughout your new home build.
How does CWS Construction ensure the quality of my new home?
Quality workmanship is at the heart of every home we build. Our homes are constructed to high standards and undergo a detailed 287-point quality control inspection throughout the building process. If any aspect of the workmanship does not meet our standards, we will identify and rectify it before handover, helping ensure your new home is completed to the quality you expect.
Who will build my new home?
Your home will be built by a carefully selected team of qualified and experienced tradespeople and Licensed Building Practitioners (LBPs). We work with trusted professionals who share our commitment to quality craftsmanship, attention to detail and high standards of residential construction.
How does CWS Construction keep my home build on schedule?
We understand how important your completion date is when building a new home. We carefully plan each stage of construction, coordinate our trades and monitor progress throughout the project to keep your build moving efficiently.
While some circumstances, such as severe weather, material delays or client-requested changes, may affect the construction schedule, we’ll communicate any potential delays with you as soon as possible and work to minimise their impact on your project.
How will I be kept informed during my new home build?
Clear and regular communication is an important part of our building process. You’ll receive regular progress updates throughout your project, including a weekly onsite meeting with your project team.
We also use project management software that gives you your own login, allowing you to view project photos, schedules, updates and other important information throughout the construction of your home. This means you can stay informed about your build every step of the way.
Is CWS Construction fully licensed and insured?
Yes. CWS Construction are licensed building practitioners and is a New Zealand Certified Builders (NZCB) member. We also maintain the appropriate insurance required for residential building work, providing you with confidence that your new home is being built by experienced and qualified professionals.
Can I supply my own items for my new home?
Yes. We can discuss client-supplied items as part of your new home build. To help keep your project on schedule, any items you plan to supply should be identified and discussed during the initial design and planning stages, well before your project presentation and contract signing.
Once your building contract has been signed, we generally recommend avoiding changes to client-supplied items. Late changes can affect scheduling, product compatibility, warranties and the overall construction programme, potentially resulting in additional costs or delays.
By confirming client-supplied items early, we can ensure they are properly incorporated into your home design and construction programme.
Can I visit my home during construction?
Yes. We encourage our clients to stay involved throughout the building process. At the beginning of your project, we’ll arrange weekly site visits with you, which can continue throughout construction until handover.
For everyone’s safety, site visits must be arranged with your Project Manager or Site Foreman. This allows us to provide appropriate supervision and ensure all visits comply with our health and safety requirements.
What support do I receive after my new home is completed?
Our relationship with you doesn’t end at handover. Once you move into your new home, CWS Construction remains available to help with any items covered under your applicable warranty and to answer questions you may have about your new home.
We take pride in providing ongoing support and want you to feel confident and comfortable in your new home long after construction is complete.
Can I make changes to my home during construction?
We understand that your ideas and requirements can sometimes change during the building process. If you would like to make a change, we’ll discuss the request with you, including any potential impact on the construction schedule, materials, plans or other aspects of your project.
Any approved changes will be priced as a variation and confirmed in writing before the work proceeds. Where changes require amendments to plans or council approval, these will also need to be addressed before work can continue.
This process helps you remain informed and in control of your building costs, design decisions and construction timeline.
